Meet The Team
Whitman Wesley
Vice President
Whitman Wesley moved to Birmingham in 2017 to join Athena Pest Control and serve as Vice President. Whitman is originally from Greenville, Alabama and an Auburn University graduate. While a student at Auburn, he had the opportunity to intern for Pat Dye with the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences. After graduating, he began his pest control career with Orkin in Georgia.
Whitman, his wife Martha Ann and sons Huey and Whit now live in Crestline.
Evelyn Poole Tipton
Director of Operations
Evelyn Poole Tipton is originally from Greenville, Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama in 2012 with degrees in American Studies and Political Science. She and Whitman are cousins and grew up together.
She has lived in Birmingham since 2013 and has helped Athena since 2016. She made it a full-time career in April 2021.
Evelyn loves living in Birmingham and spends her free time with her husband Burch and two kitties, Gandalf and Noodle.
Chris Whealen
Service Manager
Chris Whealen is originally from St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Birmingham in 2019. He has been a valued member of the Athena team since October 2021.
David Giordano
Mosquito and Outdoor Technitian
David Girodano is a Mountain Brook native and is a student at Mountain Brook High School. He joined Athena in 2021 to help with our mosquito services and when it's not mosquito season, he helps us part-time with our outdoor services.
